ACCOMPLISHMENTS

  • Developed an online curriculum with the NMA and Medscape providing CME credits in Cultural Competence to over 5,000 clinicians to date.. This online exercise is comprised of three cases developed as video vignettes demonstrating a healthcare provider interacting with a patient. The three cases each cover one of three topics: impact of bias on providers’ decision-making; patient-provider communication; and navigating language barriers. Medscape link.
  • Developed and implementd a Cultural Competence curriculum comprised of a lecture series, small-group discussions, and role-play exercises, implemented as part of the core curriculum at HUCM.3. Facilitator's guide for small group discussion on labeling and identities made available on MedEdPORTAL, ID 668.
